Terms, Fair Play & Privacy
Please read carefully before using the platform. By creating an account or playing a game, you agree to these documents and to the fair play rules that protect competitive integrity.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using kingchess, you agree to these Terms of Use in their entirety. If you do not agree with any provision, do not use the service.
These terms form a legal agreement between you (User) and the kingchess team (we / us). Continued use of the platform after changes to these terms implies acceptance of the updated conditions.
Service Description
kingchess is an online chess platform centered on opening-first gameplay. It lets you create games by opening, find opponents, analyse moves, and track your progress.
The service is provided as is and may be changed, expanded, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.
User Account
To access full functionality you must create an account using accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity carried out under your account.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.
User Conduct
kingchess maintains a zero-tolerance position toward cheating and platform abuse. Players must compete using their own skill, judgement, and calculation only.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Using engines or automated assistance during rated games;
- Using tablebases, opening books, databases, notes, or move recommendations during live games;
- Receiving help from another person, coach, streamer chat, software, bot, or browser extension;
- Harassing, threatening, or discriminating against other users;
- Creating multiple accounts to manipulate ratings or results;
- Sandbagging, boosting, match-fixing, intentional rating manipulation, or staged results;
- Disconnecting, stalling, or abandoning games to frustrate an opponent;
- Attempting to access unauthorised systems or data;
- Reverse-engineering or copying any part of the service.
Violations may result in game forfeiture, rating correction, temporary restriction, title removal, account closure, and permanent suspension without refund. For detailed playing rules, see the Fair Play Policy in this legal section.
Intellectual Property
All original kingchess content — including code, design, brand, and text — is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express authorisation.
By publishing content on the platform (analyses, comments), you grant kingchess a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that content within the scope of the service.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, kingchess is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the service.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Games lost due to technical instability do not entitle you to compensation.
Modifications
We may revise these terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or an in-platform notification. The effective date will appear at the bottom of this document.
Termination
You may close your account at any time in your profile settings. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately and without notice if you breach these terms.
Upon termination your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (limitation of liability, intellectual property) will remain in effect.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of São Paulo/SP shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes, with each party waiving any other venue however privileged.
